Creating content that engages your customers

Content is still king in the online world, but the nature and scope of the content that you need to create a successful website has changed dramatically over the past few years. It's no longer enough to have well-crafted text and appealing visual design to capture the user's attention. You also need to offer high levels of interactivity to create an experience that engages the user. In other words, it's no longer just about broadcasting content to your user. It's also about empowering them to participate in the content process. Here are a few tips on how to create content that engages your customers. 1.  Update all the time
Whether you are using your website or social media channels to engage customers, you must keep your content up to date to capture their attention and keep them coming back to you. Up-to-date content on your website will also help you to improve your rankings on relevant keywords on the search engines.
2. Make it easy to share your content
You should make it as easy as possible for users to share your content with other people as possible. Give them the freedom to choose whether they'd like to share a link via social networking services, social bookmarking sites or even email.
It's so simple to put buttons on your website that will let users "like" content on Facebook, tweet it via Twitter and "Digg This" that it's inexcusable not to do so.
