28% Of U.S. Adults Read On eReader Or Tablet

ebookNewser reporting: Twenty-eight percent of adults in the United States use an eReader or a tablet to read books, according to a new poll by Harris Interactive. The poll, which was conducted in February, showed an increase from Harris’ previous poll done in July in which only 15% of U.S. adults reporting reading on eReaders and tablets.
Interestingly, the digital adoption is not being led by young people. Thirty percent of 18-47 year olds use eReaders, 24% of 48-66 year olds use them and 28% of 67 year olds and older use them. 12Expect the number to continue to grow. According to the survey, 13% of Americans say they are likely to purchase an eReader in the next six months.
Among those who own eReaders, 29% typically read more than 20 books a year, 21% say they read 11-20 books a year, and 24% read between 6 and 10 books.
